Victoria, Australia Certificate of Education VCE project  

 

Haileybury College, founded in 1892, is located in Melbourne, Victoria. Run, funded, and managed directly by the federal government, it is one of the highest ranked high schools in Australia. It is the creator of Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) courses, which is implemented in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades, and is famous for its contribution to the high rate in admission to universities.

 

The Victorian Ministry of Education and Victoria Curriculum Assessment Authority (VCAA) entrust Haileybury College to start VCE in China.

 

On March 1st 2008, Zennstrom Duyier, vice principal of Haileybury College, and Luo Xiang, executive director of Strathfield College in Australia, visited BFLS to discuss the training of teachers, exchange of students, and the introduction of these courses. The conclusion of this meeting yielded an agreement whereby the college will introduce a senior secondary curriculum to BFLS. And BFLS became the first secondary school to establish Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) courses in China.
