10月31日，万圣节前夕通常是西方国家庆祝万圣节最热闹的时刻，我校外语组的全体英语教师着手做好了节日准备。在初二年级走廊的图书角，他们搭起了别致的舞台，周围以气球和糖果为装饰，烘托出了浓浓的节日气氛。午餐后的时光，全年级师生以及外教齐聚这个热闹的角落，开展了一场别开生面的Happy Halloween party！

派对主要包括几个环节：服装展示-游行参观-设计理念介绍-投票评比。同学们将各自的创造力和想象力发挥到了极致，他们装扮成吸血鬼，精灵以及各种鬼怪的样子。吸引了其他年级师生前来参观。活动在一片热情的欢声笑语中结束，同学们在享受派对的同时加深了对于西方节日和文化的了解。

万圣节，起源于凯尔特人传统的鬼节。后来经过基督教改造成为了纪念圣人的节日，如今的万圣节开始演变为狂欢或派对的形式。因为它的特殊意义和奇特的节日色彩，万圣节逐渐在世界各地风靡起来。我校具有浓郁外语特色的校园，每年在这特别的节日里开展不同形式的活动。下面看看同学们的感受吧！

Halloween，is also known as “All Hallow ’s Day”, which is a traditional festival in most of the western countries. But in  recent years, Halloween is becoming more and more popular in many other countries including China. And most of the cities in China also celebrate it.

On October 31^st, the junior 2 students of Beijing Foreign Language School also held a remarkable party to celebrate it. All classes took part in it and all the performers did an excellent job . They dressed up as the Joker from DC , the Spiderman from MARVEL ,  the undertaker and the ghost as well .

At the very beginning , all of the performers went up onto the stage and took some photos . Then the host went up to the stage and asked all of the performers to introduce the ideas of their outfits . After that, everyone cheered for their brilliant performances. At the very end of the show, the six Chinese English teachers and one foreign English teacher voted for the best design from all of them and she was awarded a whole basket of sweets. They chose Amanda and Micheal from Class 7 Junior 8 as the best performers. And all other students went cheerio with their candies. All students joined the party and was closer to the western culture. The idea of the festivals was not just the reward you get from it.

Halloween, which means “All Hallow’s Eve”, is a traditional festival in a number of western countries on October 31^st, the eve of this western Christian feast of “All Hallow’s Day”. However, this year, for students in BFLS, it is not only a church holiday, but also a chance to set off our creativity and escape from the tense study life for a short while.

It’s a willing job for both the teachers and students to take charge of the candy preparing and decoration job for the festival. Our reading corner is covered in a brisk bright orange and black, with paper-made pumpkins and balloons with patterns of black cats and grinning skeletons hanging all around.

You can tell that the celebration has already started by the entrance of those frightening characters: witches flying all around on their broomsticks, a ghost with choppy face, vampires and the Hogwarts students walking and talking casually to each other in their school robes…

As the Halloween approaches, we are getting more and more excited. It seems like all the young teens used to have a Halloween’s dream. It finally arrived on October 31st. Some of the students put on their self-made costumes. They though hard to make their costumes as strange and horrible as possible. It turns out that their work all payed off, for that they really gave all people a shock.

At the beginning of the show, they commence to parade along the corridor, just like the civilians from the Medieval Europe, huddling on the street. A short boy as the host suddenly jumped to the stage and announced the rules for the “Halloween talent show”. Then the “ghosts” scrambled to climb the stage, introducing the figure they dressed up as.

This event brought lots of joys and fun to all of us. Everyone indulged in the happiness that Halloween party brought us.
