初二年级给大家带来的是《The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe》。
Aslan)

I have learnt the novel since the beginning of this semester. Our foreign teacher made his class so interesting that I fell in love with this story Fantastic Mr. fox. I began to love reading novel since then. I was really lucky to be chosen as the main character Mr. fox. I tried hard to act like a fox and think like a father fox. I was very glad we made a success in the final show. First, I would like to express my grateful for my foreign teachers. Without their help, I couldn’t know being an actor is so amazing and I’ve learnt quite a lot from every rehearsal. Also, I want to thank myself. I made a right decision to join the show and I am strong-minded when I am frustrated. In addition, I gained a lot. I became interested in acting. It encourages me to read more and have a better understanding about the character in the book. It seems that I can have a talk with the person in the book. Finally, I want to say thank you to our school which organize this meaningful activity. It provides more chances for our students and motivates us to move on.
Jason from Class 1 Grade 7(曹在熙 初一1班)
When it comes to the English reading class, a lot of classics will pop into my head. And the English reading class is one of my favorite, during which we can not only talk about the main characters , the deep meaning of the theme in the story, but also share our own understanding to the stories. In the class, our foreign teachers often try to explain the difficult words with patience in various ways, building a relaxing and harmonious reading atmosphere for us. From the English class, not only is it beneficial for us to build up our vocabulary, but it can also broaden our horizon, enrich our lives and let us take pleasure in lots of things. All in all, I strongly suggest that we should take up reading as our great interest and hobby. I do believe that reading can change our life and make our life more colorful.

In our grade 7 reading classes we have been reading Fantastic Mr. Fox. Reading this book has been an excellent opportunity to improve the student’s English; to expose them to new vocabulary and new expressions. We have explained the language and expressions in our reading classes and have looked deeper into the language and structure of the book. We have also had a detailed look at Mr. Fox with the writing assignments, ‘An interview with fantastic Mr. Fox’ and ‘What would I do if I were Mr. Fox?’. More recently we have made a play from the book. This drama has given the students the opportunity to better understand and practice this new language. By having many rehearsals and a performance, the students have consolidated their new phrases and vocabulary. Performing on stage has built the student’s confidence in speaking English. The drama has also allowed students to explore the book further and see it through the character’s eyes.
Mr. Robert from Grade 7
Over the course of this semester, our grade read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, by C. S. Lewis. Though the students struggled through many difficult worksheets about the book for homework, they got to take a more creative turn in class. While reading the book, the students were called to turn Edmund’s Turkish Delight fancy into a comic strip, predict what would happen next with the Witch, interview the characters about Spring coming back, do a breaking news story on Aslan’s resurrection, and even act out Peter killing the wolf. As the semester came to a close, the culmination of reading this novel was the novel drama show.
While a lot of hours of effort went into the Narnia play on the part of both the teachers and the students, it was not in vain, for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was truly an exciting and entertaining time for all. Whether it was the giant wardrobe that Miss K worked on for hours on end, the amazingly creative costumes that the students put together, or the superb acting skills that the students displayed, the play was truly a memorable time. Some brilliant highlights are the fake snow around the giant wardrobe, Edmund’s sleigh time with the White Witch and his Turkish Delight, Santa Claus destroying his own reindeer’s antlers, Aslan’s multiple hair-raising roars, the final battle where the Witch broke her own sword in half, and the crowning ceremony where Susan’s crown fell off when she curtsied. All of these and more made the Narnia play what it was: a truly unforgettable experience that I will be chuckling over and reminiscing about for a long time to come.
Miss Emily from Grade 8
It has been a great experience being involved in the English Novel Drama Show. After a lot of organization and preparation, my colleagues and I held rehearsals for the show. Each one of the students brought their A-game and we were immediately impressed. During the rehearsals, the students worked very hard on improving their pronunciation and acting skills. Even though our rehearsals weren’t always perfect, we were always improving. . I’m so proud of grade 7 and was blown away by grade 8’s performance. It was great to see that all of our hard work paid off and we put on a wonderful performance!
